If you ever wanted some inspiration to elope then we think Uzziel and Jimmy’s Tasmanian elopement in their super stylish Airbnb might just do the trick.
For Uzziel and Jimmy, the most important thing they wanted for their wedding day was that it was stress free. For most people the obvious solution is to elope with an intimate ceremony in an amazing location with the flexibility to do exactly what you want. As the couple said “Do what makes you happy! It’s meant to be a day that celebrates your love, rather than a day to stress you out”
With elopements being so simple, it’s really fun to see how couples bring a bit of personality to the day. We loved the cute details like matching Nike sneakers and Uzziel honouring her late mother’s love of orchids by having a modern orchid bouquet.
“So much goes into big weddings, we decided that wasn’t for us. We wanted a stress free day, where we could focus on ourselves”
Why ARE we big fans of eloping? We’ve learned from the Wedding Footprint Calculator that small weddings are a great sustainable solution, they create less waste and have a smaller carbon footprint.
For Uzziel and Jimmy, they were grateful for the flexibility an elopement can provide. They had a “very chilled morning” getting ready together, and as the typically unpredictable Tassie weather turned grey and wet outside, they were easily able to make the decision to move their ceremony from their chosen location of Snug Falls, to the stylish cosiness of their Airbnb ‘Slowbeam’ in South Hobart.
Their team; Celebrant (and Less Stuff More Meaning vendor) Rachael Calvert, photographer Omar from By The Wild, and videographers Kev and Caitlin from Love Featured Films were only too happy to accommodate the change, and kept the camera shy couple relaxed and laughing, rounding out the heartfelt ceremony with tequila shots all round!
After the ceremony they all went to grab some burgers at the Telegraph Hotel, and from there they headed off to the Tasman Peninsula for some portraits.
Uzziel and Jimmy said the best bit was that they got back home to the Airbnb nice and early, tucked into some nice Vietnamese food and were in bed by 9.30pm – very chilled indeed!
